Week 2: Day 1

Okay... I woke up this morning, and suffice it to say I'll be "sick" for the next 5-7 days. So I am taking it easy today.

This morning for breakfast: smoothie (banana, strawberry, pineapple, almonds), coffee (4 cups worth) and 2 eggs.

I am really looking forward to the day when I have less throat/neck fat! Here is an awesome link: http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-Neck-Fat It is very encouraging.

I really miss Goodlife. 2 days of not being there, I really can't wait to go back.

Here is a funny article from Buzzfeed: http://www.buzzfeed.com/adamellis/types-of-people-you-find-in-every-gym It is all about the kind of people you find in the gym... so true!

For lunch: wrap (spinach, avocado, 3 slices of turkey meat, roasted red pepper hummus, the last of my feta cheese, some red onion and green pepper, and lime/chipotle dressing) and chicken noodle soup (low sodium, low calories).

I did a bit of cleaning today as a distraction... Being happy and healthy can be undertaken in multiple ways!

I have also come up with some other ways to use my time effectively: doing leg raises in my bed, or crunches in my bed. Doing squats while I watch a tv show. Playing music/listening to music/writing music and songs. Planning and organizing my day.

Thank you to my friend Caitlin for reminding me the importance of getting cardio in every day!!! You are an inspiration to me little fackle :)
Before:

As of August, 2013:

Thumbs up for kicking some serious ass!

Where we were, we will never be again. Where we are going, folks? The future is ours to decide.

Tonight I have class 5-8pm... MONDAYS KILLIN ME SMALLS.
I will bring apple slices, sunflower seeds, and almonds with me, as well as my water bottle.

When I get home, I will head to the gym for 45 minutes of treadmill, bike, and elliptical.

A Look Back on Week 1

Okay so looking back on week 1, I am happy. It was slow, but steady. There are some changes I would like to make in the upcoming week though.

  1. Temptations: I get easily tempted by delicious things in my house. I really feel like I 'eat my feelings' sometimes, and this needs to stop. I have equated food with comfort. When I am chilling watching tv I need a snack or something, which is totally just a psychological pattern that needs to be nipped in the bud.
  2. Laziness: I feel like I could give a little bit more to my exercises, and push myself a bit more. I also need to get sleep in during proper hours. I find myself awake til 1 and 2 am, sometimes almost 3 am, which is not a good pattern for being in school, and for keeping my body regulated.
  3. Classes: I could probably go to more classes and expand my workouts. If I go to Body Pump and there is another class offered that day before or afterwards that I could totally go to, at least for half of it or something, timewise I should committ. I'm already there! Take a look aroundddd. Okay that got a little dramatic, but really. Even if I do an extra 15 minutes of cardio following or prior to my class, that's a potentially extra 150-200 calories burned in very little time.
  4. Habits: Some bad habits I have, choice-wise, I need to cut out pretty much completely.
  5. Food Regulation: This kind of goes with temptation, but is also just mostly about portion controls and being mindful of what I am eating and how it will affect my body. Things I said I was NOT going to eat, I have eaten (sugar, pudding, icecream, etc) and if I am serious about this, I need to cut it out!!!
  6. Following through: I am still working on the whole commitment aspect, and it will be a process for me for sure, but I need to work on the small things. Biking to class and back gives me that extra 2-4km potentially in a day. A 10 minute bike ride even around 1st-2nd street additionally is another 2-3km, and takes little to no time. I also need to keep up with my pushup/situp/squat/burpee/plank routine that I set for myself.
Other than all that magnificent failing I've done this week, it is more than I have been doing, and I plan to face these challenges head on this upcoming week!

Stay tuned for the Week 2: Day 1 updates coming tomorrow!

Thank you for all the post views :) You guys keep me accountable!!!
